Top-Down DK Sock Class
Learn to knit a classic top-down heel-flap sock using either double-pointed needles or the magic loop method. This class uses DK-weight yarn, so you can move through the sock construction more quickly while learning each essential step with confidence.
Once you are enrolled, we’ll provide both the double-pointed needle and magic loop versions of the pattern.
Homework Before Session 1
Once you’re enrolled and have received your pattern, please cast on and knit the first 3 inches of your sock cuff before the first class. This will allow us to jump right into the heel flap, heel turn, and the more hands-on parts of sock construction during Session 1.
Class Schedule
- Session 1: Sock construction overview, heel flap, and heel turn
- Session 2: Gusset pick-up and decreases
- Session 3: Foot and toe shaping
- Session 4: Finishing the toe shaping and closing with Kitchener stitch
